The culmination of 47 years of work
Y: There will also be a refrigerator on the first floor. At milestone TERADACHO, we will even be selling beer.
N: It really was a dream come true, but with amazing connections and timing, we were able to get Minoh Beer, the pioneer of local craft beer, to do a special order for us. It's not a company that does that kind of thing very often, but my friend GEBO, who I play music with, runs a taco shop called ADO in Neyagawa. From there, he introduced me to the president of Minoh Beer. When we talked about the concept store, he immediately said "We'd love to help!" and things progressed smoothly. *By the way, we've also asked them to provide taco catering for the grand opening on Saturday, July 1st, so I hope you'll enjoy some incredibly delicious tacos along with milestone CRAFT BEER.
The label design for this collaboration beer was created by my American friend, Tom Maxwell, who also designed the BAMBI100 logo. As you can see from the label, there are two types of beer. We've already obtained a liquor license, so we're all set!

H: Craft beer! (Excited) I'm looking forward to it.
N: There's a counter, so of course you'd want to drink coffee. There's a coffee shop in Teradacho called "Coffee Market" that roasts coffee beans. They made drip coffee when we launched milestone nine years ago. We've revived that and created an original blend this time, so we'll be selling it.

Y: We also went to the workshop of Masterpiece, a bag manufacturer, to have the curtains for the fitting rooms custom made. We've collaborated with them before, and their workshop is nearby. We used ballistic nylon for the fabric.

H: It's a really strong one used in the military.

N: I've known Masterpiece designer N for 10 years. I'm glad that I was able to ask him to do this job thanks to our connections with various people.
Y: As befits an outdoor brand, it is secured with a carabiner and has a hook for fastening.
N: K-kun said he didn't like the idea of having a rail on top and having to make a shaky sound.
Y: We spent over five hours just discussing the curtains, and we just couldn't decide. The construction company that was doing the work was like, "This is good enough," but the designer, K, was like, "We've put so much effort into it, and it would be a shame to make it look like a home."
I can't really explain it well, but I think the attention to detail in the lines of the building is the work of a professional. There's a sense of visual unity, with the edge of the stairs and the line of the counter in the back perfectly matching up. It just creates a really comfortable space.
N: The wall counter on the first floor extends from the inside to the outside, floating about one meter in the air. Normally, if 20cm thick concrete were to stick out a meter, it would be heavy and require desk legs, but we asked them to do without, which made the construction quite difficult. I think it's a building with a rich design.
Y: The electricians have never done anything like this before, so every day is a challenge. The lights the designer specified are out of this world. They say it's encouraging (laughs).
N: K-kun has seen a lot of good things both in Japan and overseas, so his selections are often excellent. So it was hard to balance the budget, and sometimes we went over it, but we thought, "It's a once in a lifetime experience, so we have to go!" and we went for it everywhere (laughs).
Y: The entire back wall of the first floor is covered with a noren curtain with an elevation graph on it, and it looks really cool when lit up.

N: I went to a lot of noren shops, but this one was particular about the gradation of the dyeing. I think they made some really good ones.
For the lampshades, I went to the artist in Shiga Prefecture, saw his workshop, and we talked about who made them and who would buy them, and then I bought them there. So it's different from just clicking on the internet; you feel the emotion and warmth towards the product. It's the same with the speakers, but this time they used really good speakers from Nara, so I went there myself and listened to my favorite music on those speakers before making my selection. I'm quite particular about music (laughs).
Y: On the wall to the left as you enter the entrance, there are three-dimensional contour lines and the words "LIGHTING YOUR WAY" written in handwriting.

N: I asked COVER, who designed my CD jackets when I was making music, to draw it for me. Actually, K has also designed other works for me. Even though our styles are different, we all had a sense of style back then. That's why I asked my friends from back then to draw it again this time. Everyone is still serious about it.
Y: It's a compilation of Nishioka "SHUNAMI" Shuhei's 47 years of life.
H: It may be something that will remain in your memory longer than Nishioka's life.
N: It's true. The panel hanging behind the counter is a photo I took, and @shiitaketaro (Takashi Okamoto) posed for it. It's the cover of this year's (2023) catalog. I'm thinking of continuing to display the cover photo of the catalog selected each year in this frame. I think the concept is great.

N: I think I'm in an incredibly fortunate position to be able to build a building like this. That's why I was so particular about it, and even though I had many disagreements with the designer, I think we were able to create something great in the end.
Grand opening on Saturday, July 1st
H: Are you thinking about doing any running events in the future?
Y: I'm still not sure what the details are, but I'm thinking of starting a "Teradacho Jogging Club." I want people in the area to come for a short run after work, and if they feel like it, have a beer or something before they go home.
H: So it's just jogging.
Y: If we make it a running club, it will inevitably become too serious. We just come in our loose tracksuits or pajamas and chat (laughs).
N: We plan to open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. We will also be open on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays once a month.
The grand opening will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 1st, and will also be open from 11:00 a.m. the following day, Sunday, July 2nd (open until 7:00 p.m. on the 1st and 5:00 p.m. on the 2nd).
Y: Just between you and me, we'll be giving away souvenirs to the first 100 people each day. *We'll be giving them away to people who become friends with milestone TERADACHO on LINE.

N: We've created something really great, so I'd like as many people as possible to come, including those who have been involved, friends I hang out with on a regular basis, and of course, people I'm meeting for the first time. I'm looking forward to seeing you at "milestone TERADACHO."
Finally, the brand milestone will become a marker on the map. The exterior walls will be stone gray. I'm looking forward to going for a beer and checking out all the unique features. Don't forget to use your smartphone's cashless payment function.
By the way, the name "Hep" is apparently derived from the sandals worn by Audrey Hepburn in the movie "Roman Holiday." Be sure to take a (mental) holiday in Teradacho.
