I went to KAMI_100, the final round of the OSJ series, which was held in Kami Town, Mikata District, Hyogo Prefecture from November 5th to 7th, 2021.

On Friday, we set up a booth with reception only, and many people purchased milestone products and participated in the Trailmaster rental event.

At 9am on Saturday, about 500 runners were running the 100km course. All my usual friends had red bibs: 100km (37km x 3 laps), while I was the only one with blue: 37km. We all took a commemorative photo before the start.

Among them, there are many milestone cap users,

I received a lot of smiles,

I was really happy.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude.

This person, who purchased a cap, T-shirt, and socks on the day, came in second place in their age group. Please wear this as your go-to outfit next time too! lol

Even during the race, everyone was smiling and willing to stop and pose for photos.

And so the strong competitors lined up at the starting line and the countdown began. 3. 2. 1. GO!!!

The top player takes the lead with momentum.

The 37km race I was taking part in started in an hour. The scenery was amazing.

The autumn leaves were absolutely beautiful, and the conditions were perfect. I just had to do it. I mustered all my strength and, around the 27km mark of the final stretch, was told I was in 11th place! I saw the runner in 10th place ahead of me, so I slowly closed the gap, but I had no energy left. At the 30km mark, just before the summit of Mt. Torokawa, I got my first leg cramp of my life. My adductor muscles were cramping, and my thighs had a shape I'd never seen before. Was this what a cramp felt like? It was my first experience, and I panicked, my feet stopping, unable to take a single step forward. As I stood there, a runner passing by me in the 100km race called out to me.

Are you okay? Are you drinking enough fluids? You're sweating a lot, so I'm taking salt and heat supplements.

They gave me two packets of this medicine and said, "Take it right away!" It really helped me. I'm so grateful for their amazing service.

I decided to stop thinking about my ranking and just aim for the finish line. I started walking from the 30km point and managed to reach the finish line safely.

What surprised me was that I came in third place in my age group at the awards ceremony. I was so happy to receive a medal at my age!

Now, from here on, my friends are working hard to run 100km, so I'll support them and cheer them on!

Just before the finish line on the second lap, Akakon unexpectedly sprained his ankle. It seemed to have been quite severe. However, Hibiki from ON-RUNNING (KOUMI_100 finisher), another exhibitor, quickly came to his aid, saying, "I'm a New Hale trainer!" This really helped us out.

Then the first place winner came back. Nishimura. He made good on his promise to finish in under 12 hours! What a surprise!

Of course, he used a Trail Master headlamp! After the race, I asked him a bit about his experience using the headlamp. He switched between medium and high when picking up speed, but basically the low setting was enough for visibility! He said he didn't need to change the battery, and when I checked the battery level after the race, there were two levels left.

Akakon,

And Yoshi heads off for the third lap.

Tate-chan is wearing milestone original socks!!

And then they came back. I was so moved. Just amazing.

And Tate-chan has returned. He's given it his all. You can see that in his expression. What's really great about participating this time is that I was able to talk to a lot of people and make new friends. I've been reminded that if you put in the effort, even if it's just a little bit, you'll get results. I need to make thorough preparations (medication, etc.). And I was able to do the final test of a new product, and the results were satisfactory. Well, this weekend the big race, "Krondo Rondo Milestone Cup" awaits. What kind of drama awaits me in my first 90km race!?
