Following on from my last blog , my next stop was the outdoor chain store " REI ." It opened in Seattle, Washington in 1938. It now has over 100 stores across the US, stocking a wide variety of outdoor apparel, shoes, camping equipment, sleeping bags, tents, cooking utensils, and more.
Since it's near LA, I went to the Santa Monica store.
The door handle is shaped like an ice axe, which shows good taste.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of America's National Parks, and with REI listed as one of the event's sponsors, there were many limited edition commemorative products lined up at the entrance.

The second floor was lined with apparel products, and this is what it looked like from above.

The headlamp brands I was looking for were, from the right, BlackDiamond, Princetontec, and Petzl. There were also lanterns from UCO.
This set of BD's popular "moji" lanterns, which aren't available in Japan, is $59.95 for three, so it didn't feel like a particularly good deal.
I also saw the YETI soft cooler here. At the previous ADVENTURE16, only this grey and blue color was on display...

This one is actually a different color combination of beige and olive, with orange accents. It's the same color scheme as our MS-C1 . This is an item I personally want.
to be continued
