Tenugui, an essential item for outdoor activities. Following the hugely popular and sold-out first series, the second series is an ambitious work that has reached new heights through more effort, while respecting the tradition of the "tenugui" gear, with its origins, manufacturing methods, and patterns all uniquely Japanese.

[Material] Made from 100% cotton fabric with excellent quick-drying, lightweight, and portability.
[Pattern] The design is by Yuichiro Bando, who presides over maunawear, which designs shirts for outdoor activities. He developed the traditional Japanese tsumagura pattern, placing a single wavy color on the fabric edge (tsuma) and then covering the entire surface with a pattern that can be interpreted as either the light of a headlamp or the parr marks of a trout (the oval spots that appear on the sides of juvenile salmonids). The design is finished with the milestone logo and the flagship model MS-i1.
[Manufacturing Method] "Chusen," a traditional Japanese dyeing technique developed in Osaka, was used. It was dyed twice (creating two molds and performing chusen twice to align the patterns) using the laborious discharge dyeing technique called nukisashi.

*Tsumagura (褄柄) literally means "tsuma pattern" in Japanese, referring to the pattern found on the lower left and right front parts (tsuma) of a kimono. It is originally a term from kimono culture and became popular around the Edo period as a modest and stylish pattern that would be glimpsed when walking or sitting.

Care Instructions

・When washing, do not wash with other items, and do not use synthetic detergents, fluorescent brighteners, or bleach.
・After washing, reshape and hang dry in the shade.
・Do not leave wet or soak.
・There will be some shrinkage after washing. When ironing, dampen with a spray bottle or use steam.
・If the cut edges fray after use and washing, cut only the weft threads with scissors to tidy them up. This will make them less likely to fray further.
