I ran the Osaka Marathon 2025, which was held the other day. It was my first full marathon in a year, and my second in my life.

Last year, he ran the Sasayama Marathon in Hyogo Prefecture, with a gross time of 3'28 09" and a net time of 3'22 53".

I had lost quite a bit of weight last year, so I think it was a pretty good result for my first marathon.

This year, my weight has been a bit off than I expected... but compared to Sasayama, the Osaka Marathon is flat, so my goal this time is set straight at 3'20 00".
When I started, I knew I had to clock 4'35"-4'40", but considering that I would be slowing down in the second half, I wanted to save some time, so I ended up working hard.

I've been training hard, doing 20km runs, 30km runs, and pace runs, but...

I thought I was saving money in the first half, but in the end, I ended up with a huge debt.

I completely lost momentum from the 33km point. The second half was really tough.

I lost interest towards the end, and walked about five times. 🤫 I was spotted walking by a few acquaintances. 😅
In the end, I managed to improve my previous record by about 30 seconds and achieve my personal best. Gross time: 3:23'21" Net time (reference): 3:22'21"
After finishing, I thought about what I should have done better, and realized how important pacing is, and that with more experience I could improve my record a little more. So I'm thinking about participating in a marathon once a year.
At the end of the race, I received cheers from many people along the road. It made me really happy and encouraged me, which helped me to do my best. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude. Thank you very much. I also recorded a podcast about this fierce Osaka Marathon, so I would be happy if you could check that out too .
Finally, this was my outfit for the day. It was so cold that it was snowing, so I had originally planned to wear a sleeveless shirt (sunshine orange) , but quickly changed to a Doo-Bop T-shirt (copper brown) . Arm sleeves and gloves , essential for a marathon, were extremely useful. When the wind blew strongly, I took out the mittens from my gloves to keep the wind at bay. The MSS-004 Daybreak Merino Socks I chose this time also worked very well. It was quite cold before the start, so the socks, which are 5cm longer than my usual socks ( MSS-002, MSS-003 ), and the warmth of the merino wool allowed me to run comfortably.
