On the second day of our summer vacation, we suddenly changed our plans and headed to Mt. Yakushi. We had all been inspired by watching the start of TJAR the night before, and we were still excited, so we thought, "Let's go to Mt. Yakushi!"

At Tarohira, I had the chance to be approached by Mr. Hiraide, who has won the Piolet d'Or three times, the most of any Japanese.

What is the Piolet d'Or?: An international award given to outstanding mountaineers. It is also known as the "Academy Award of mountaineering clubs."

We waited for the leader, Doi, for two hours at the summit of Mt. Yakushi. From the left, the TJAR logo is T, J, A, and R. *J is slacking off.

And finally, Doi emerged in first place! This was filmed by Hiraide, who was part of the NHK-BS Great Race camera crew. What gorgeous footage! I'm looking forward to seeing it air.

As I was filling out a press application for TJAR, I decided to follow Doi for a bit.

Even though it continued to run all night, the way it continued moving forward without a care in the world was simply amazing and moving.

The milestone YouTube account will soon be uploading a video titled "TJAR - Interview with Ryoryo Doi."

It will be a two-part feature film. Look forward to it!
