We participated in "OMM: KAWAZU JAPAN 2024," held in Kawazu Town, Shizuoka Prefecture from November 8th to 10th, both as a stall owner and as a participant. The MOONLIGHT GEAR DJs always liven up the venue at the pre-event party. Their music selections are always great, honestly.

In the evening, we met up with the members of the "Wednesday Grape Hill Training" group, with whom we always run and play in the mountains, for a training camp.

As many of you may already know, OMM stands for Original Mountain Marathon, and is a Rogaining race in which participants pack everything they need, including food, clothing, and shelter, into their backpacks and focus on map reading. To put it simply, about 1,000 people are given a map just before the start and go on a treasure hunt in the mountains. Two people form pairs, each decides their own route, and the first team to reach the finish line wins.
His partner was, of course, the manager of milestone TERADACHO, Yoshida. In fact, he was also his mentor, training him in map reading every week in the field for about a month before the event.

I've never seen Manager Yoshida look so serious before (lol). He was totally switched on. "Don't get lost, just use the map, compass and milestones" I got quite lost though. (lol)

Although he performed highly accurate Rogaining, he was disqualified on the first day because he was unable to control all of the treasures.

In the evening, we had a thorough debriefing in a quiet area.

On the second day, the course was shortened,

I somehow managed to score a goal.
Map reading is difficult, but it's deep and fascinating. I want to work hard next year so that I can give my buddy a bit more advice.

The following week, we went to the "Sengenyama 100" race held near Hayama Town, Kanagawa Prefecture. This race, which covers 5 laps of 32km with a distance of ±6000km, was run by around 30 people. We were the only Kansai participants, but there were many familiar faces and the atmosphere was relaxed.

This is Manager Yoshida's 11th 100-mile challenge. His bib number is "81." I decided to participate as a support and pacer.

After seeing the start, we all went to have breakfast. We enjoyed the recommended all-you-can-eat bread. The bread here was incredibly delicious.

Then we moved to Kamakura and visited the tourist attractions.

While sightseeing, everyone got too excited and forgot to support Manager Yoshida. Then, Mr. Yoshida called us on video, saying, "Hey, where are you?" "Sorry, I'm sightseeing." "If that's the case, you should have told me from the beginning." "Sorry..." Here's a picture of the exchange below. Of course, after running 32 kilometers, you come back thinking he'd be there, only to find he's not there... That's frustrating. Sorry, Manager Yoshida.

Then, I pull myself together and continue sightseeing.

And since pacer Haruka will be running from the third lap, we decided to cut sightseeing short and head back to the venue.

Manager Yoshida was incredibly relieved when he finally met up with the other members.

In the fourth week, we were joined by Norio, a seasoned pacer who took on the toughest part of the nighttime section.

His stomach was starting to feel better, and on the final lap, Hideki's chicken-hearted Kouya came to his rescue.

Pattern maker Junko also runs hard.

Sometimes pulling.

Finally, a commemorative photo. The finish line is just around the corner!

Manager Yoshida crosses the finish line in style. What a memorable moment. Even with his stomach aches, sleepiness, and occasional forgetfulness about his support duties, even as the other members enjoy sightseeing, Yoshida Naofumi is a strong runner who keeps smiling and maintains a good atmosphere throughout the race. He'll no doubt be taking on various 100-mile challenges next year.

As soon as we reached the finish line, we were introduced to the artist who had drawn this picture, which he had received as a surprise gift from a member of "Wednesday Grape Hill Training" in July of last year when our store, milestone TERADACHO, opened.

Mahina is an artist and 100-miler.

At the end of the event, a BBQ was held for all the participants, and although we really wanted to join in, we had to go back to Osaka and catch the last train, so we reluctantly left.
It was an exciting November. Thank you to everyone who helped me out.
Now, it's finally December, and things will only accelerate until the end of the year.
