I started a new challenge this year. It all started when I was talking to Doi-san and he said, "If you run 20km every day, you'll naturally lose weight!" I had gained a lot of weight due to overeating and drinking during the New Year holidays, so I thought I'd give it my all and try running. That said, I thought that Doi-san's speed for running 20km and my speed for running 10km are roughly the same, so I thought maybe I could run 10km every day? I thought I could do it if I could make an hour or so in the morning or evening, so I started running on New Year's Day, January 1st.
After that, I managed to complete 10km on the third day, and it gradually became more fun, so I started increasing my speed and distance...

I can do it if I make time somewhere in the day! That's right, I'm good at getting up early, so I can just run while my family is sleeping! I thought to myself, and ran 10km in the morning. If I was feeling good, I ran another 10km with Manager Yoshida after work.

Early birds make a difference. Mornings are always good, and I can think about a lot of things while I'm running. About work, my family, my friends, things I'm interested in, things I want to do, etc. Lately, I've been listening to podcasts a lot. I often find myself running past 10km before I realize it.

I ended up with the highest monthly distance I've ever covered. It's an incredible number that I would never have imagined back then, but it's the accumulation of daily efforts that has led to this. *This includes about 20km of skiing with a friend.

However, even when I went skiing, I would find time to run 10km in between. I didn't want to be interrupted...lol

It felt good to run in the snow.

Also, the other day I went gravel biking with the guys from MOVEMENT , a bike shop close to milestone TERADACHO. It was a 30km ride and a super-smooth course before going to work.

But before that, I got up early and ran 10km because I didn't want to be interrupted...lol

As a result, I started drinking less at night in order to make an effort to get up early in the morning. I also started to be more conscious of what I ate, and before I knew it, I had lost 3-4kg.
As Doi says, it seems that "running every day will naturally make you lose weight" is true. Even though I run this much, my legs don't hurt, so I'm going to continue for a little while longer, without pushing myself too hard.
At the end of January, I felt a sense of accomplishment in setting a goal and accomplishing my mission, even if it was just a little at a time.
