Last year, I released "milestone sound library." every month on Spotify. I made a list of my favorite music and selected the songs in a sort of DJ-like way, but the monthly pace was too much for my listeners, and even for me (lol), so I've slowed down the pace a bit and will now release it every two months.

This is Vol. 13. We focus on Teddy Riley, the genius producer behind the superb black music genre "New Jack Swing," and present a selection of his masterpieces. Teddy's music is so unique that you can tell it's his work just by listening to it, making him a one-of-a-kind producer.

He originally released numerous hit songs as the vocalist and producer of a three-piece group called The GUY, and then rose to fame by writing songs for artists such as Michael Jackson and Bobby Brown.

As an aside, I was 12 years old when Bobby Brown's "Every Little Step" was released in 1988. I was so moved by the music video that I started dancing. The rap that came in mid-song was so cool! *It was even used in a TBC (Tokyo Beauty Center) commercial at the time, and was broadcast to Japanese living rooms. Also, "Now That We Found Love," which I wrote with my friend Heavy D, was used by DorD in the popular "Dance Koshien" segment of Tensai Takeshi's Genki Deru TV, and it really influenced me at the time. Nostalgic, lol. Teddy is now a hit-making machine, and more recently, he's transcended musical genres to discover Pharrell Williams, who recently became director of Louis Vuitton.

We hope you enjoy listening to the up-tempo, danceable NEW JACK SWING, whether you dance along to it, play it as background music, or listen to it while picking up your running pace.
