How are you all spending your Golden Week? We are heading out to hike the Hira-Hiei Trail in Shiga Prefecture.

I went on a two-day, one-night fast-packing trip with the usual members of our Wednesday Budozaka training group.

Anyway, we were blessed with good weather and the trip started off with laughter from start to finish.

On the first day, we passed through the Hira mountain range from Kutsuki to Mount Takenagatake.

After walking about 20 kilometers, we found a good spot along a stream, set up our tents and started the party.

The next morning we got up at 3am and left at 4:30am.

On the second day, everyone started early as they would travel about 30 kilometers to Mount Hiei.

Lighting your way safely!

Anyway, it's a spectacular view

A pleasant trail continues,

Move the pieces at a good pace.

I always take my hat off to my teammates who have great running ability.

Finally, we arrived at Enryakuji Temple on Mount Hiei.

Norio and I were exhausted after running up to Fuji, so we gave up on the remaining 3km descent and left at Konponchudo Hall, deciding to take the cable car down the mountain.

Trail running is a lot of fun. Fastpacking with friends you normally run with is also fun in a totally different way.

I would also like to try other outdoor activities!
