"How to Enjoy Night Trails" is a series that appears in the trail running magazine "RUN+TRAIL." In each installment, we focus on a runner that we find fascinating, and interview them about interesting stories from their first night trail adventures, as well as their impressions of running in the Trail Master .

Our guest this time is Yuko Yada, the runner-up at the 2016 UTMF, who tested the Trail Master prototype before it was even completed.

He first used the Trail Master at UTMF in 2018. Until then, he had been using a separate type that required multiple AA batteries (the batteries were located at the back of the head), and was surprised by the lightness and simple operation of the lithium battery.

When tightening, roll up in the forward direction

To loosen it, press and release the button in the center of the quick dial system. He likes it because he can adjust the size with just one push, even while riding.

Although the Trail Master is a separate type, it has a structure that is well balanced between the front and rear, so you hardly feel its weight.

To replace the battery: 1) Hold the cap in your right hand and the battery in your left hand.

2) Insert the battery into the cap as shown in the picture. Note: Some people insert the battery into the battery holder first, but this is not allowed.

3) Then insert the battery and cap into the battery holder, and finally fasten the cap to the holder with the clip. Once you get used to it, it's a simple process.

Yada shows off his nimble running style. His form is beautiful.
