Yuya Kawasaki appeared in this issue of RUN+TRAIL Vol. 44, "milestone presents... How To Enjoy The Night Trail - How to Enjoy the Night Trail - Vol. 4."

I first met Kawasaki at Hasetsune (Japan Mountain Endurance Race: Hasegawa Tsuneo Cup) in 2018. I participated for the first time as a vendor and volunteer at Tsukiyomi Aid.

At the same time, I also met Akutada-san from New Hale, who taught me a lot of things when I didn't know anything. I still vividly remember when he brought Kawasaki to our booth after the race.

The following year, one of the main races, Hasetsune in October 2019, was cancelled due to a typhoon, and UTMF in April 2020 was cancelled due to COVID-19. We were worried that his motivation might have dropped in such circumstances, but he kindly agreed to be interviewed for this article.

The shooting location was somewhere in Shizuoka Prefecture, which is Kawasaki's home ground. We managed to complete the shooting mission within the limited time frame in the early morning.

As the sun was rising, we quickly looked for a good spot to take photos and had him run around several times.

Mr. Nice Guy, with an impressive smile in between.

Simple operability and

I like the fit of the wired quick dial system.

The headlamp he still loves is the MS-F1:TRAILMASTER . I think he'll be able to achieve results in a race somewhere in 2021, so I'd like to go and see it for myself. Please see the magazine for more details .
